At the age of 55, Jur Laver, nicknamed Mekulajuski, has many weddings where he was a musician or hegedus, as they say in the local dialect. Therefore, he knows very well the customs and songs typical of weddings from Reped (another name – Curve) of Maramures County. He played violin, zongor, drums and collaborated with many other musicians in the area. We spoke with Mr. Yuri to learn more about the times when traditional weddings were the rule, not the exception.
